The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree program is designed for the career- and goal-oriented business professional who is seeking a solid foundation in the core business disciplines of accounting, marketing, economics, business mathematics, finance and management. The BSBA consists of 49 semester credit hours.
Shorter’s accelerated Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education (BSE) is designed to help working adults gain the skills, understanding, knowledge and practical experience they need to become successful credentialed teachers at the P-5 level. The BSE consists of 58 semester credit hours.
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Human Services (BSHS) degree will acquire knowledge of the developmental process in human behavior and will use diagnostic skills to analyze human behavior. While gaining an understanding of global and domestic problems, cross-cultural differences, and diversity, BSHS students also will acquire an understanding of the ethical responsibilities of their profession. The BSHS consists of 49 semester credit hours.
The Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) degree program is designed for the undergraduate-level management student, and consists of a core of 48 semester credit hours. Curriculum in the BSM program is designed to provide the student with the ability to communicate effectively and with the ability to apply management and leadership theories to resolve problems that arise in business settings.
The Master of Arts in Leadership (MA) degree program is designed for the graduate level management student, and consists of a core of 34 semester credit hours. Courses are designed to enable the MA student to be able to integrate and apply acquired knowledge and skills to effectively research, analyze, and resolve practical management problems or opportunities while guiding human behavior in a changing environment.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program is designed for the graduate level business student and consists of a core of 37 semester credit hours. This core includes courses in business management topics such as managerial accounting and economics, international business management, marketing and finance.
The Master of Education in Early Childhood Education (MEd) is designed to provide an appropriate setting for students to upgrade credentials while developing as a classroom professional. Courses emphasize professional development, development of new skills, and the updating of knowledge in the certification area. Major emphases will include the role of the professional in a changing society and demands for working with a dynamic, ever-changing clientele. While the MEd program does not lead to initial certification, it may be used to elevate a certificate from a T-4 to a T-5 in the state of Georgia. The MEd consists of 34 semester credit hours.
